Happy Friday, my fellow suffering beings. Each week, I share two things I’m digging right now (books, TV shows, movies, music, and the like) plus one online video of nearly zero cultural merit.
Friendship: This movie is so aggressively batshit that it veers into both hilarity and profundity. Stars Tim Robinson, Paul Rudd, and Kate Mara. It was recommended to me by my old friend, Vanessa Grigoriadis.
This article makes me even more intrigued by—and terrified of—ayahuasca. Extremely well written—and often very funny—first-person account. It was also recommended by the aforementioned Vanessa. (Who, by the way, has a podcast called Infamous that’s worth a listen.)
One more thing: The incredible meditation teacher and dear friend to many in this community, Spring Washam, is recovering from a bad accident. A GoFundMe has been created on her behalf for anyone interested in donating.
In addition to getting the 10% Happier podcast ad-free, paid subscribers also get:
A cheatsheet for each episode — with key takeaways, time-coded highlights, and a transcript
The ability to comment on posts and participate in subscriber chats
Access to our twice-monthly live video sessions, in which I guide a meditation and take questions
Bespoke meditations from Cara Lai — one of my favorite dharma teachers and a fan favorite — every Monday and Wednesday for the month of June
