The “middle path” on gratitude really stood out to me. I see something similar in clinic — patients who aggressively track every health metric sometimes end up more anxious than before they started. The measuring itself becomes a new source of comparison. Three concrete things, savored briefly, lands better than I would have expected.
I actually deleted FaceBook completely. I kept IG and threads; I set a timer for threads, and only look at friends following for art on IG. My life has improved 10fold. I was super anxious for a bit, but realized I was missing only drama; everyone on social media gets clicks for any activity…some get paid, others think they do. It’s all for money, so buh-bye. I use the phone to call people unawares….shocking, I know…😬 😉
The funny thing is that if you get off social media, at least in my case, no one even misses you. I think it's more mirror than anything. I jump on every few weeks and do see lovely events I don't want to miss, or some fun photos, but for the most part, it is so EASY to be off of it.
absolutely rings so true for me, i have been on my own journey of changing my life and fitness for the last 2 years and am so proud of how far I have come and yet a sexy influencer video, lifting huge weights in the gym can make me appear so far behind but im not behind im on my journey . I subscribed to a great guy that talked about motivation, mindset and success, he was exactly where i wanted to be , he had it all ... or so it seemed he sadly took his own life . I think everyone needs to realise we are all on our own journeys and it probably wont look like someone else's.
Love your work! Why have your staff post on your account while you’ve deleted it? Seems wacky. Delete it & trust other avenues will bring you listeners.
The comparison trap has been around long before social media. Anyone who interacts with the world might be susceptible to it. The struggle is to stay grounded and not get sucked in.
One benefit of getting older: you eventually realize comparison is a losing game.
The only life that really matters is the one unfolding in front of you.

Noticing how each app impacts your mood is so important

Thankful for these wise words. You’re lucky you have friends who can post for you

Kinda chuckly to read a post on a social media platform about the possibility of deleting all of one’s social media apps.
I do this more than most.
