We’ve officially moved into our new home: the 10% with Dan Harris app. Paid subscribers can find step-by-step instructions here to get set up. If you’re not a paid subscriber, now is the time to sign up to get a 30-day free trial. Monday (Jan. 12) is the last day you’ll be able to access our library of paid content on Substack. After that, all meditations, live replays, and the ad-free podcast will live exclusively in the new 10% with Dan Harris app.
Great to be back for the second of our three lives this week for the New Year’s Challenge. I kicked off yesterday’s live with a classic loving kindness meditation. After that I took some questions on:
How to send loving kindness to genuinely difficult people without feeling like you’re co-signing their bad behavior
Strategies for managing feelings of loneliness and purposelessness, including the benefit of engaging in service or volunteering
How to use the RAIN practice (Recognize, Allow, Investigate, Nurture) to handle difficult emotions
Tips for working with intrusive thoughts and mental spirals
A few off-the-cushion tools for hard moments, including Kristin Neff’s self-compassion break
Thanks again to everyone who joined. As a reminder, the seven-day New Year’s Challenge began on Monday and consists of:
Daily meditations Jan. 5 through Jan. 11 from Joseph Goldstein (only available in the app)
Three special live sessions: Jan. 6, 8, & 11 at 4:00 p.m. ET (you can watch the replays in the app; the replay of the Jan. 8 session is also included above)
The last live of our New Year’s Challenge is this Sunday, Jan. 11. Like all of our Challenge lives, it’s open to everyone, paid as well as free subscribers, so please join us!
These lives use a different Zoom link from our regular Tuesday Zoom lives. You can find the Challenge Zoom link here. We will also email it before the live on Sunday. And you can find it in the new app under “Upcoming Events.”
See you Sunday at 4:00 p.m. ET on Zoom.
IPMF,
Dan
